We Are Born Motherhood.
Born Motherhood was created for the woman who senses there must be more.

Birth is not a procedure.
It is a profound human experience - and the way you feel inside it matters.
Born Motherhood exists to provide steady, evidence-based, heart-centered care through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. We believe women deserve more than rushed appointments and generic reassurance. They deserve continuity, clarity, and support that honors both their voice and their values.
Why We Exist

Hi, I’m Ayla.
Long before I ever stepped into a labor room as a doula, I was working inside the medical system - co-managing a long-term care unit, supporting families in vulnerable seasons, and developing skills in life enrichment, social work, and patient advocacy.
In that space, I learned how complex healthcare can be. I saw how policies and pressures shape outcomes. I learned how to advocate clearly, how to communicate with providers respectfully, and how to remain calm when emotions run high. I came to understand both the humanity and the machinery of medicine - and how deeply families need someone who can navigate both.
Meet Ayla
Founder & CEO, Born Motherhood
Certified Labor & Postpartum Doula
Thompson Method Breastfeeding Educator
It was the birth of my own child that reshaped my calling.
A Calling Shaped by Experience
It was the birth of my own child that reshaped my calling.
After delivering my second baby in a worship-filled, uninterrupted hospital birth - even catching my own baby - a nurse quietly said, “We never get to see women just give birth to their babies like that.”
And I remember thinking: “This shouldn’t be rare.”
Not because birth is always calm. Not because it goes perfectly. But because no woman should ever feel alone inside it.
That conviction became Born Motherhood.
Over time, I became a certified labor and postpartum doula, became the first Certified Breastfeeding Educator to bring the Thompson Method to Virginia, and pursued continuing education to become a Midwife’s Assistant and Certified in Advanced Practice Neonatal Resuscitation.
I wanted to be equipped - not just emotionally, but clinically and practically - so I could serve families with excellence.

Support begins long before labor. It begins in preparation - in conversations that untangle fear, in options explained without pressure, in helping partners feel equipped instead of sidelined.

During labor, your doula offers grounded presence and clinical awareness - watching you, not just the monitor.

And after birth, support continues in steady check-ins, feeding guidance, and space to process your story.

For families who desire it, we are honored to
pray quietly and faithfully
- never performatively.
What Support Looks Like
For families who desire it, the team and I pray over our clients by name - for peace in their labor room, for unity between husband and wife, for rest in the long nights, and for strength when confidence wavers.

Quietly. Faithfully.

Because this is more than a profession to me.

It is stewardship.

When you invite Born Motherhood into your story, you are not simply hiring a doula.

You are welcoming a steady presence.
A trained advocate who understands both heart and system.
A woman who believes deeply in the sacredness of this season.

And it would be an honor to gently walk with you through it.
What began as one doula pursuing a dream to serve families has grown into a carefully trained team supporting families across Southwest Virginia.

I know because I have experienced it myself.

Women sharing wisdom.
Offering steadiness.
Strengthening families from the inside out.

I believe mothers grow in confidence when they are guided with gentleness, not pressure.

I believe strong marriages are built in moments like these - when partners are equipped, united, and supported.

This work feels generational to me.

It is about strengthening women.
Strengthening families.
Strengthening communities.
Why This Work Matters
But at the heart of it all is something deeply personal.
I believe there is something sacred about women walking
alongside other women in this season.
